Beach Bag Beauty: 3 Must-Have Products

The month of August in Washington DC is a time for beach vacations.  With congress out and business slow, it's the perfect time to sneak in a last minute trip to the shore.  Before you go, though, stock up on some of these beach bag essentials hand-picked by Washington DC makeup artist Jessica Gressa.  She's an expert at perfecting the natural look for wedding, photo shoot, and event makeup, but for now she's giving us her top three must-haves for the beach:

Protecting your skin from scorching rays is crucial when it comes to maintaining a youthful visage.  And if you don’t believe the damage it can do to your skin, a simple Google of ‘tanning mom’ should suffice.

If you’re too timid to go bare (faced), opt for a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF.

** Despite lathering on the sunscreen, we all get crispy from time to time. For sunburns and dehydrated skin, I swear by the Aveda Intensive Hydrating Masque. It cools and calms skin within minutes.

Mineral Spray

Whether you’re looking to lock in moisture or offer your skin some relief on the beach, water/mineral sprays are a luxurious way to refresh. For a dewy radiance, use it between each layer of skincare and makeup (before moisturizer, before foundation, after foundation to set it). Or simply spray when you need a little pick me up.

Tinted Lip Balm

Wind blown hair on the beach is sexy…until a piece gets glued to your sticky lip gloss, and you’re choking and spitting out strands. Get perfectly plumb, luscious lips using tinted lip balm.
